Karnataka is home to some of India’s most important tourist destinations. The cities of Mysore, Hampi and Bijapur are renowned for their historical sites, while the beaches of Gokarna, Karwar, and Udupi are popular among beachgoers. Karnataka is home to several wildlife sanctuaries, such as Bandipur National Park, Bannerghatta National Park and Nagarhole National Park, which are a haven for bird watchers, wildlife enthusiasts, and nature lovers. Karnataka is also home to a rich cultural heritage, with several UNESCO World Heritage Sites. These include Hampi, the ruins of the Vijayanagara Empire, Pattadakal, Badami and Aih.
